Merry Christmas and Happy New year
I love holiday time. I get to spend time with my family, watch everyone eat lots of food, and see so many pretty decorations. Nana, Aunt Jamie, and Aunt Jordanne came and stayed with us for almost the whole week. Grandma and Grandpa came over for Christmas day and spent the night too. I got to see lots of people over the holidays and they all wanted to play with me. I love getting all the attention even though sometimes they wear me out and Mommy has to put me to sleep when I can't stand it any longer. I got these things called presents all wrapped up in paper that you have to tear open. I even got a few from that guy Santa that I met last month when I sat on his lap. I slept through Christmas morning, but I woke up with enough time to open all my presents. I got more presents than both Mommy and Daddy; that's because I'm so cute. Then Aunt Tara, Uncle Chad, and Cooper came over for New Years. Danae and Morghan also came over too. I had fun playing with Cooper until it was time for us to go to bed. I fell asleep on Morghan while everyone was looking pretty silly playing wii . I missed the ball dropping for new years, but I woke up to everyone playing with long sparkling sticks. I can't wait for the next holiday time so I can have more fun with my friends and family. Right now I'm working on entertaining Mommy and Daddy. They like to look at me and stick out their tongue. I think its funny so I stick mine out too. I also love talking to them. They don't seem to understand what I am saying, but hopefully they will catch on soon. Speaking of which I better get going, my fishies are swimming around on my swing without me.

Cloth Diaper Experiment
Well it seems that Mommy and Daddy are doing there best to try my patience. Cloth Diapers?!? What is it 1952? Although, these "BumGenious" diapers are pretty swank. They grow with me so that they always fit, they don't leak because they are waterproofed on the inside, and they have a pocket to add an extra liner for my overnight diapers. I think that when I go out of town or when I go to visit Gramma I will still like the convenience of throw aways..but hey these are nice for hanging around the house. Plus, Mommy and Daddy have to wash them so I dont really care :) I let Daddy take a picture of me wearing my ultra cool yellow diaper, but I didnt give him the satisfaction of a smile...so there!

Lights and Sounds all around
Lucas here for another update about us.....there are so many things that are going on at my house. We had a lovely Thanksgiving. Nana, Aunt Jamie, and Aunt Jordanne all came over to eat with us. It was lots of fun to spend a few days being passed around. Mommy and Daddy even got to show off the flower bed in the front of the house that is no longer the rock garden. It looks very nice and they worked very hard. After Thanksgiving Mommy and Daddy put up the Christmas tree covered in lights and decorated with ornaments. It's so pretty I like to stare at all the lights. Then while I was sleeping, Daddy got up on the roof and put up the Christmas lights with a little help from Mommy so he wouldn't fall off. Now the outside of the house is all lit up and I can see it when we go for a walk with Melanie. I love looking at all the different things around me. My three favorite things are Mommy, Daddy, and the fish that swim around above my head in my swing. We are always on the go it seems. We saw Grandpa, Uncle Matt, Cousin Jakob, and Cousin AJ (Grandma wasn't home). Then we went to Cooper's 2nd birthday party and met more friends that I always hear about. Last weekend we even went and saw Santa! I was a little sleepy cause Mommy woke me up to meet him, but I'm glad she did and I didn't miss out. I hear he brings good little boys presents at Christmas time. I can't wait. I wonder what he will bring me this year? This weekend Mommy and Daddy are taking me on my first road trip to Tallahassee. They loved to talk about this place so I'm excited to see it. There is supposed to be a parade and more friends to meet. We are even bringing Melanie with us. She better stay on her side of the car so I'm gonna have to cry and tell Mommy. I've been a little fussy lately because I haven't been feeling too well. The dr says no infection, but I think I'm a bit congested. I have to sleep at a funny angle now with a humidifier, but it seems to help a little. I'm now 1 month, 2 weeks and 4 days old. I'm bulking up and I now weigh 9 lbs and I'm 23 inches long. Before you know it I'll be out of these newborn clothes and onto bigger things. Speaking of bigger and better things it's time for me to eat and head off to bed. Goodnight.

Fall fun from Lucas
Mommy and Daddy have been enjoying their time home with me even though sometimes they don't know what hour or day it is. They keep talking about daytime and night time. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do during these times, but I'm sure I will figure it out. We went to our first pumpkin patch so of course mommy had to take pictures along with Amy. For Halloween Nana and Aunt Jamie came over to play. Mommy made everyone wear a costume to help hand out candy to all the kids who came trick or treating. We have also made a few trips to the drs office. He keeps saying that I'm loosing weight, but mommy and daddy stuffed me really full so now I'm gaining weight. Soon I will be beefcake status. 7 days ago that annoying thing on my belly finally fell off. I'm soo glad mommy and daddy don't have to clean it anymore. Plus now I can get a real bath, not this sponge bath stuff. The weather has been so nice that mommy and daddy have been taking me outside while they play with the dog or work in the yard. I hope it stays this nice. Well here are a few pictures from our adventures and even a few from before my arrival. Also a few links from mommy's facebook account where she posts most of her pictures. Enjoy.

Welcome baby Lucas
If you havn't already heard, baby Lucas has arrived. He was born Oct 20th at 5:30am, 7lbs 3 oz 20inch long. We were induced on Oct 19th because I was preclamptic (high blood pressure). After pushing for 4 hours (2 hours one time, a break, then 2 hours again) they decided to do a c-section. Poor Lucas had a swollen head because he wouldn't fit. Once the got him all cleaned up and bathed they gave him back to me to feed him. Well he "fell asleep" as I was trying to nurse him and I asked the nurse if he should be such a sound sleeper. She came over and saw he wasn't moving enough because he wasn't breathing. She called a code on the phone and then about 20 people ran into the room and the curtain was closed around me so I couldn't see. They had to go get Dave because he was moving our things from the labor room to our room. They got Lucas breathing and then took him to the nursery. There he stayed all week. He was hooked up to monitors to check his heart rate and breathing because when he would get in a deep sleep he would stop breathing. Finally he stabilized, got taken off the oxygen, and iv. Then we were able to take him home on sat with an apnea monitor. It has a band that goes around his chest that monitors his heart rate and breathing. If his heart rate goes too high or too low or if he stops breathing an alarm goes off and we have to stimulate him to make him breath. Knock on wood the thing hasn't gone off yet. They also put him on caffeine in order to help stimulate his system. We are doing all of this for a month and then if things look good he can come off of both. So needless to say it has been touch and go, but it is all worth it for such a beautiful boy.

Baby Lucas Update
Yesterday we got our last pictures of Lucas from the inside. He is 36.5 weeks along now, head down, approx a little over 7lbs, and I'm 1-2 centimeter dilated. We are finishing up the nursery and will have pictures posted soon. Now all we do is wait for his arrival. He is due Oct 28th, but could be here anytime before then. We are getting quite excited and we can't wait (except for the no sleep part).
